My name is Laurie Cooper. I recently joined Tamra Wade And Partners at ReMAX Tru and Iam SO excited to be representing Expo Homes out at Manchester Walk in Lawrenceville.
Iave been selling real estate in the Atlanta area since 1987 a wow a doesnat seem like itas been 25 years! I was with Coldwell Banker for about 10 years, mostly as a re-sale agent. I did some work for relo companies and represented a few builders back in the 90as, but re-sale listings were my specialty. I made the move to REMAX in 1997 and never looked back!
I live out in the Buford area on Lake Lanier with my husband, Ed. Weave been there for 10 years and absolutely love it. I have two boys and a step daughter who all live close by. I have 4 grandkids a ages 2 a 5yrs. – the absolute loves of my life! I have a big yellow lab, Otis, who is the best dog EVER and a black kitty that makes herself very scarce when the kids are around!
When I moved out to the lake in 2003 I began to specialize in marketing Lake properties. It was great for awhile a I absolutely loved it a it didnat take long and I knew the south end of Lake Lanier like the back of my hand. But then the bottom started to fall out of the real estate market and at the same time, we went into one of the worst droughts Atlanta had seen in a long, long time. Every day it got a little worse a trying to help people sell their alake homesa that didnat have any water, in a market where no one was buying, and property values that were plummeting way below what people owed on their mortgages a Yikes!
So in late 2009 I decided to hang it up. I put my real estate license on inactive and started doing some internet marketing and mobile app development a which has been great fun a but I became a hermit, sitting in front of my computer.
In the meantime, Kristin, my daughter-in law, decided to get her real estate license. She started working on Tamras team and absolutely loved it. Long story short a she talked me into getting back into it, and Wa a La a Kristin and I are partners! Seriously a what could be better? I absolutely love her, we work great together a weave got a GREAT builder, great product and a GREAT team! I couldnat be more excited! After I wrote my first contract at Manchester Walk and saw how excited the buyer was to be getting a new house a I totally remembered how fun it is to be a part of that! Thanks Kristin for pushing me to think about it and thank you Tamra for taking me onto your team. It feels good to be back!
