Holiday Light Show at Lake Lanier Islands

This light show is a blast and a yearly tradition for our family!

The park is located on Friendship Road (Now known as Lanier Island Parkway) exit 8 on I985.

Each year the excitement seems to grow for my little ones as they think of new questions to ask the bearded St. Nick! The most recent question posed by my 6 year old is where does Santa spend his summer? He replied aœThe North Polea with a chuckle.

We always try to go during the week as soon as it starts getting dark outside and bring our coupon from Publix (it is for $10 off). The miles of lights always amaze us as it is always changed up and  new displays show up amongst the ones we had seen in previous years.

As you work your way thru the show either by car or rented golf cart there are a couple of stops that you must take advantage of. The first is the nativity scene that is held every thirty minutes starting at 6:00. The Second stop is at Santa€™s Workshop. There you will find cookies, treats, candies, hot cocoa, marshmallows to roast, and every sugar creation to know to Elf kind. Elaborate displays of tree ornaments are for sale to browse while you patiently wait for your turn with Santa. During the week there is typically not a wait. My children waiting a total of about 5 minutes to see Santa and must have spent 10minutes speaking to him. They had their photos taken and then we grabbed some warm salted pretzels to eat and went to ride the carnival rides. The $20 worth of tickets took about one hour for the kids to spend!

With the ride tickets gone, pretzels eaten, Santa photos in hand, memories of the Nativity in our mind, mittens on our hands, and the clock striking 8:00pm; it was time to pack into the car and head home.

Until next year, or until summer;  when my daughter wants to visit Santa at The North Pool…brrr!

This light show runs until the end of December.

It takes about one day for the framers to put in the floor trusses and frame the first floor...
