Gwinnett County Memorial Day Celebrations

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The public is invited to a Memorial Day Ceremonyon Monday, May 30, 2011, at the Gwinnett Fallen Heroes Memorial in Lawrenceville at 1:00pm to celebrate and remember the men and women who have served and protected us throughout our nation’s history. This ceremony is hosted by Gwinnett County government and the Gwinnett Fallen Heroes Memorial Committee.

The Memorial Day Ceremony will be televised on May 30 at 7:30pm on TVgwinnett. Gwinnett cable customers can access TVgwinnett on cable channel 23 or 25, depending on the cable provider. TVgwinnett programming is also available streaming and on demand at www.tvgwinnett.com, where viewers will also find a program guide.

The Gwinnett Fallen Heroes Memorial was dedicated in 2003 to remember and honor Gwinnett citizens who have died in the line of duty while serving this county and our nation.

The Fallen Heroes Memorial is located on the grounds of the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center, 75 Langley Drive in Lawrenceville. Visit the Gwinnett Fallen Heroes Memorial webpage for additional information about the memorial.

Dacula: The City of Dacula will host its annual Memorial Day celebration, which includes a 5K race, a parade, and a festival. Duluth: The City of Duluth and American Legion Post 251 are sponsoring a Memorial Day service on Saturday, May 28 from 6:00pm to 7:00pm at the Duluth Town Green. The American Legion Riders will perform a “Salute to Fallen Heroes” exhibition on their motorcycles and Purple Heart recipients will be honored with a commemorative coin and thanked for their service to our country.
