Cypress Springs

Date line October 1, 2013:

Cypress Springs Recreation Area€™s pavilion is under construction. A unique feature of Cypress Springs is its three community parks. Unlike many of the areas mega subdivisions with the Olympic pool and tennis courts, and the ensuing staggering annual fees and eventual special assessments for repairs, Cypress Springs has three passive parks for its residents. In two of these areas there will be a pavilion for the use of the subdivisions residents. Future walking trails will connect two of the largest parks.

Cypress Springs largest park is at the end of Trail Hikes Dr on the left looking over community green space. This community park is just under an acre and is made up of several flat areas suitable for a game of catch of playing Frisbee, and some gently rolling hills that provide a panoramic view of the North GA Mountains in the winter time.

The Park was started this fall with grading and clearing of unsightly brush, dead trees and removal of some old construction debris left over from the original builders. This week construction has begun on the pavilion. The building was framed earlier this week and the roof shingles went on yesterday. The siding and interior walls will be worked on next week. It wona™t be long until the building is finished and the next community BBQ is will take place.

The second Recreation area will be built out as the builder finishes the homes adjacent to the park area. This smaller park is just over 1/3 of an acre, and will have its own pavilion. This park will be off of Mock Ives Court. The last park area was seeded this past week and should be usable in several weeks once the grass comes in. It is the smallest of the park areas at just under a quarter of an acre. It is at the end of Upland Ives dr at the end of the cul-de-sac and is a welcomed space for the cul-de-sac residebts.
